Over the past few years ACAT’s EDI Committee, in conjunction with the Inequality & Diversity SIG, have hosted online member-focussed gatherings to mark Black History Month (BHM). 2025's theme is 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride'. This year , instead, we're inviting members to share brief stories or reflections on Black or Brown others who have inspired them in some way as people, and as CAT therapists. Who would be your choice and in what way have they inspired you, been a resource to you, or added to your own 'internal voices'? Or you might want to share a paragraph on what Black History Month means to you. We would value hearing from you.
Please send any contributions between now and the end of November, to Dupe Adu White via chair.edic@acat.org.uk. We hope to collate and publish a range of offerings on a feature page on the website which will be available all year round, not just for one month of each year. You can of course submit more substantial pieces on this subject to the Editors of Reformulation.
