Sibling Awareness for Therapists - A CAT Approach

13th March 2026
London N1

A CAT approach to family stories and our patterns of relating to self and others through revisiting reciprocal roles with siblings. Relationships with siblings can be rich, complex, troubled and sometimes neglected. They can mirror parental and gender dynamics and can offer a window into family and social systems.  They have their echoes in adult life at work, in friendship and elsewhere.    This CPD workshop will reflect on personal experiences of movement and stuckness in sibling relationships and the ‘reciprocal roles’ or patterns of relating that they have given us and might still be active today in our work.  The focus will move from self-exploration of our own or our parents' sibling dynamics to reflection on and supervision of such moments in the lives of clients/patients.  The day will offer a context for using Cognitive Analytic tools of mapping, writing and voice work in innovative and co-creative ways. Numbers are limited.
